Care Instructions

Your Opa Your Standards Necklace is crafted from 925 sterling silver with an 18K yellow gold-plated finish. Because gold plating is a surface finish, a little extra care will help preserve its shine and color for as long as possible.

Keep it dry when possible. Remove your necklace before showering, swimming, bathing, exercising, or entering pools, hot tubs, and the ocean. Chlorine, salt water, sweat, and repeated moisture exposure can accelerate wear on gold plating.

Jewelry goes on last. Apply perfume, hairspray, lotions, oils, sunscreen, makeup, and other beauty products before putting on your necklace. Allow products to dry completely first, as chemicals and oils can dull the finish over time.

Avoid chemicals and cleaning solutions. Keep the necklace away from household cleaners, alcohol, bleach, acetone, and abrasive jewelry cleaners. Do not use silver polish or chemical dips on the piece, as these can damage the gold-plated surface.

Clean gently. After wearing, lightly wipe the necklace, pendant, turquoise, and diamonds with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth to remove skin oils and residue. For more thorough cleaning, use a slightly damp soft cloth and immediately pat completely dry. Avoid soaking the necklace.

Protect the stones. Although beautiful and durable enough for normal wear, the simulated turquoise and lab-grown diamonds should still be protected from hard knocks, scratching, and abrasive surfaces. Never scrub the stones with a stiff brush.

Store it separately. When you're not wearing it, store your necklace in a soft jewelry pouch or lined jewelry box away from direct sunlight, humidity, and heat. Keeping it separate from other jewelry helps prevent scratches, tangles, and unnecessary friction against the gold-plated finish.
