Each cross begins with natural brown jade formed by the earth, individually selected and placed in the hands of our talented lapidary, who carefully carves and finishes every cross by hand. Measuring approximately 16mm × 16mm, its petite proportions make it beautiful enough to wear every day while allowing the rich mocha tones of the jade to take center stage.

Because this is genuine natural stone—not resin, enamel or a manufactured imitation—no two Monemvasia Mocha Crosses will ever be exactly alike. Subtle variations in color, tone, translucency, texture and natural markings are part of the stone's character and make each piece uniquely yours.

Why Monemvasia?

We named this piece the Monemvasia Mocha Cross after the breathtaking medieval town of Monemvasia in Greece.

Built into an ancient rock rising from the sea, Monemvasia is known for its centuries-old stone passageways, Byzantine churches, warm earth-toned architecture and remarkable sense of history. Its palette is filled with shades of sun-warmed stone, deep brown, terracotta and golden Mediterranean light—the same rich, earthy feeling we see in this natural brown jade.

“Mocha” is our nod to the stone's beautiful coffee-colored tones and to one of those perfectly Greek little pleasures: sitting in the sun with a strong coffee and nowhere you need to be.

The result is a name that feels exactly like the piece itself: old-world Greek, warm, earthy and quietly luxurious.

Caring for Your Natural Jade Cross

Natural jade is incredibly special, but like all genuine stones from the earth, it deserves thoughtful care. Your Monemvasia Mocha Cross is jewelry meant to be loved and worn—not treated like an indestructible manufactured material.

Protect It From Impact

Although jade is known for its toughness, natural stone can still chip, scratch or fracture, particularly along edges or thinner carved areas if it is dropped onto a hard surface.

Avoid dropping or knocking your cross against tile, marble, concrete, countertops, metal or other jewelry. When putting your necklace on or taking it off, we recommend doing so over a soft surface rather than over a bathroom or stone floor.

Keep It Away From Chemicals

Solid 14k gold handles everyday wear beautifully, but the natural jade should still be treated with care. We recommend removing your Monemvasia Mocha Cross before showering, swimming or bathing.

Repeated exposure to soaps, minerals, chlorine and personal-care products can leave residue on the surface of natural stone and gradually diminish its beautiful finish.

How to Clean Your Cross

For routine care, gently wipe the jade and 14k gold with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth after wearing it. This helps remove natural skin oils and everyday residue.

When a deeper cleaning is necessary, use a soft cloth lightly dampened with lukewarm water, then carefully dry the piece immediately with a clean, soft cloth.

Do not scrub the stone with abrasive brushes, polishing compounds, jewelry dips or harsh chemical cleaners.

 

How to Store It
